Title 24 HERS 1 Testing
Lower Home Energy will provide you with your "one stop shop" for the entire process of your Title 24 HERS 1 Testing.
DUCT LEAKAGE TESTING
The HERS 1 Rater will need access to all supply and return air vents in the residence. These air vents will be covered in order to be pressurized to measure the duct leakage. If the ductwork has been completely replaced it will require less than 5% duct leakage to pass. If the system has been altered, it will require a duct leakage less than 15%.
REFRIGERANT CHARGE VERIFICATION
The air-conditioning system requires a check on the refrigerant levels to maintain proper efficiency levels. With refrigerant gauges attached to the system we can determine if the system is under or over charged.
AIR FLOW VERIFICATION
Proper air-flow is verified by measuring the air being pulled through the return system. Depending on the size of the equipment the airflow minimum must be met by using a flowhood (balometer) to calculate the air-flow.
